do a test with both white and silver. See which looks best for your subject. For big lights, I think white will.

Testors Model Master Chrome is my go-to for this purpose. It has a mirror shine and no visible grains. Plus, it's easily hand-brushed so you can just do points.

I like to use white base and overcoat with clear red, green, blue, yellow whatever and then coat with Future. You can use silver, too, depending on the effect you need.

Window tint = India Ink in Future. Any color you want, just make sure it's India Ink and not calligraphy ink. You want dye not pigment.

I went green with these:

Future's not a bad option, I may try that sometime.

I've done this with a salt paste on numerous models. Here's the most beat-up one.

Here's a trick. Use mechanical supports whenever you can - pin parts, even small parts. Use epoxy putty or adhesive in the fastener joint. Place the parts together and use a tiny amount of CA to lock the joint while the epoxy cures. Best of both worlds!

Remember the charcoal filters have a lifetime. Store them correctly and replace them on schedule.

I'll use a dust mask when painting larger amounts. Acrylic alcohols don't seem too bad, though I fully agree that lacquers are bad juju.

parts for the Badger 360 will be less expensive than for the Iwata. It's a 155 Anthem with that rotating nose. The color cup is small, but you can add one as a side feed or bottom feed. You probably will be better served with a gravity-fed Anthem. Badger stands by their brushes, as does Iwata. From ...

High-quality CA (cyanoacrylate aka superglue) is a standard, but it can be messy if you're not careful.

If you go Iwata, pick the Eclipse over the Revolution. You'll grow into its capabilities and it's much easier to maintain.

No problem, I just wanted to make sure we weren't talking about the two different products. FYI, I find the Tamiya flat paints are WAY too flat. I like Gunze's semi-gloss and often use the Gunze or Tamiya Flat Base to make the gloss paints a semi-gloss. The Tamiya flats are nearly chalky, in my expe...

Undercoats can make a big difference. Gloss black should give more more of a reflectance. You can try other colors under panels like red, yellow, etc to give a more vibrant color. Same with yellow under gold and red under copper...

Nope, we mentioned earlier the Tamiya and Gunze acrylics are completely compatible mixing liquids. Remember, though, Gunze does make a lacquer (or something like a lacquer) called Mr. Color. That I wouldn't mix with the acrylics.

You can remove some tack from the Dymo tape by sticking it to your hand first. It will pull up putty or primer as Brother Kenny said. It doesn't need to be on super-strong, but secure.

The paint should be no problem for Future as long as it has a chance to cure before painting. All these methods are something you should test on a scrap part before your model... There's also contact cement if you can get it thin enough. It's fairly inert until you press it. IIRC the foil cement for...

Yes, I put layers of different acrylic paints over each other all the time.

Gunze and Tamiya can be mixed, but neither can mix with Acryl.

You may want to put a thin clear coat between layers if you're masking. Future works great for this.

The only times I've done it were for vacuforming (or thermoforming my own work). I'd build the master, attach to a base which could easily be discerned when looking at the vac piece. Symmetry is the really tricky part (as usual). For a frame and panel type, you probably still want to make a buck (bl...
