Accusations - Recasting, Fraud, Ripping-Off, etc. Just because someone makes a claim doesn't mean it's true. Before you charge someone with recasting, theiving or some other nefarious activity, take a moment to actually ascertain the facts of the matter. We take accusations of members using our boa...

To answer the original question: The most common reason for the Aves not setting up rock hard is the proportions of A:B are off. In my experience, they gotta be waaaay off, especially if you are using a big bunch. I have also had issues if I only use very small amounts --- like trying to mix up some...

eBay auctions

Posting links to eBay auctions is just causing too much heartache. So - no more, even if it's your own auction and you want to list it in the trading post.

All threads containing links to an eBay auction will be shut down.

Update: Avatars and other images

We have decided to enable 'avatars'. These are small pictures you can use to express your personality and are seen in posts under your name. Images used as avatars must be hosted somewhere else on the web. They can be no larger than 80 pixels high by 80 pixels wide at 72 DPI. Please, no animated GIF...

Images (and other Visual Elements) in Posts

Now that we have upgraded to the latest version of forum software, the previous ban on posting images in posts is rescinded (No images in siglines though - that hasn't changed). There's a setting in the User Control Panel (click on your name in the top left of the page) where you can disable seeing ...

Avatars & Images in Siglines

Avatars: No bigger than 150 x 150 pixels. No animated avatars. Lets use the screen to show off models, not clipart.

Siglines: No images. Period. Not even itty-bitty ones.

Yes.

And it doesn't melt like plastic does - so drill it if you want to make holes.

(same with plastic, actually)

You "still have mold lines" - what do you mean by that? Do you mean you still see the join lines between parts you've glued, or you still see the lines between where the molds were pressed together and the molten plastic injected into the molds squeezed out a bit? If it's the latter - dude, putty ai...

Alternatively, you could spray ALCLAD gold over a gloss black base. *That* would give you consistency... You get a chrome shine to it if you first spray gloss black, then several clear gloss coats. ALCLAD does well over Tamiya acrylics, as well as Testors' enamels (but let the undercoats thouroughly...

Moritorium on Partisan Politics

Enough. I'm sick to death of the posturing, the sneering selfrighteousness, the hypocrisy, the lies touted as truth, the smug conviction that each person's opinion is in fact God's Holy Writ, the shouting, and that flat out ignorance that passes for "debate" anymore where politics is concerned. I am...

Sadly, I need to add a couple strictures that will normally (I hope) only apply to Thunderdome. It's gonna take me some time to add the appropriate copyright marks to over 1000 images .... but it looks like the effort will be worth it. I won't reduce the file sizes at all - most everyone took at jumbo size, so it should be a treat to view.

I don't want to make any profit off this, just cover production costs.

I have all these images, and they're all a lot bigger than I can put on the site, so maybe if I can get permission from everyone I'll do it.
