Sorry to bother you again... I was reading up on your large lighting kit, and it has the ability to have 24 always on lights. Now, what I'm doing to the model is giving it the "Raytheon Effect", where light shines through the hull in spots where spotlights are supposed to shine on the mode...

Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to alter his methods a bit (painting instead of aluminum tape), but I'm going to use a lot of the basics. I think you'll find that paint alone probably isn't opaque enough to stop some light leakage which will diminsh the whole e...

Nah, this is for the 1/350 Enterprise refit, not for the Enterprise E.

Ok, new question...These have a flat top to them, which when shone directly on stuff, they give off a dark spot, and a bright ring. I'm assuming it's because they're not dome shaped. Now, these things are TINY. One bulb fits PERFECTLY in the 1/350 Enterprise's saucer section marker lights (the ones ...

As long as you: a) Don't overheat the LED bulb by sanding/Dremelling; and b) Don't get closer than 3/32" (or so) to the metal bits inside, you'll be fine (and so Will the LEDs). So, how would I do this safely? I do have a variable speed dremel like tool...but I don't want to overheat the bulbs...

Grinding/Sanding larger bulbs?

How would one go about doing this without ruining the bulb? Reason why I'm asking is because I scored what I thought was a good hit...I found xmas LEDs (an xmas net) at a Home Depot for 4 bucks. 70 "cool white" LEDs. Problem is, they're teardrop shaped with a crosshatch pattern on them. Th...

Thank you so much!! This is exactly what I was looking for. I'm going to alter his methods a bit (painting instead of aluminum tape), but I'm going to use a lot of the basics. This is going to be my first lighting experience on a kit. I will tinker with LEDs before the actual lighting assembly thoug...

1/350 E: Accent lights (spotlights on saucer & elsewhere

Ok... I've gone through every single tutorial that I can find, done searches through the forum, and there's a specific technique that lights up the name and the other spotlit areas on the E. The technique I'm thinking of involves instead of tinkering with the LED's to get them to point exactly where...

Right now I'm using a combination of different bulbs. The issue with lighting a subject for photography really isn't the brightness of the bulbs, but how many shadows you're casting onto your subject. If you can get several lights on your subject from different angles so that the whole thing is lit,...
