Re: Forum Upgrade Coming

After looking around I am missing two things, the link to the homepage and the link to the store: forgotten, later, or gone forever?

As an author or some of them I would love to see the long term builds somehow kept. I got stuck on my skylab build and lost it even with it as a sticky. I have the issues resolved and was going to restart it after the Enterprise refit is finish. I am almost finished with assembly and about to start ...

I use the same primer as Rog apparently and have no complaints. We to lost out LHS some time ago and I have had to find other resources or sources. I am mail-ordering a lot more supplies than I used to. It takes a bit of planning and getting used to but it works.

Add one more, sounds like an interesting idea for a scratch/kitbash idea. Only problem I might have is my wife might enter to, and BEAT me!, that would be embarrassing

Normal rule of thumb is enamel first then acrylic else you run the risk of the enamels lifting the acrylics. This said I will say that the only time I do not use a flat enamel as a primer coat is if I a working on a vinyl kit. Acrylic paint does not bite or etch into plastic like enamels do. This re...

If you have had it for 10 years you would be wise to replace the seals and gaskets anyway. They tend to dry our and crack after a couple of years normal use. The first place I would look is the packing washer. If this is cracked or leaking it will often cause the splat problem you are talking about.

I bought a couple of cheap card tables and topped them with a square of left over ceramic back splash for cutting on. Check out the layout midnite and I have below, it is a very fun room.

Thank you, I sort of thought that might be the case. It seemed liked a flat surface would hold too good and not want to peel like it should.

Pink would be good, but you would have to have a humor section then too. :) I still favor structures more, just trying to be different.

I dunno, to me Star Wars is overdone. It looks to me like john has always picked themes that take us out of our box so to speak and stretch our imaginations and abilities.

If you use anything other than an acrylic primer of some type on vinyl all I can say is that you have been very lucky. You had to have applied it in light coats scattered over long dry times. You also may have been lucky and gotten some high grade vinyl that is not very soft. In general unless You l...

Had a little spare time and did a quick look-see as to what I in stock kits both resin and plastic. Please remember I do not consider this complete and hope folks will add on. I do think that it is enough to silence the "not enough stock " bunch. Figure starting with one of these \, adding a few par...

I think there is still a bunch of us bucking for "Structures" as the next contest. That would be star bases, space stations, launch pads, etc. That one had an appeal to most fields, SF, real space, anime, MAK, ect. Everybody could get it on it.

take the suggestion to try the future, i am really not even sure that will work. if that fails to work, try using Easy Lift-Off Paint and Decal Remover, this product is not as hot as some other paint removers and is designed to use with this type of product. Yes we have used this on my wife's vinyl ...
