I used to think I wanted a CNC mill with a 4th axis, but I don't even consider that anymore since 3d printers have evolved so much and I don't work with metal very much. I could make good use of a laser cutter, though. LOL, good point, I didn't even think to suggest the third option of a straight p...

I would much prefer a CNC machine, although ideally I would have both. Even that particular CNC machine can do cutting in three dimensions, so that seals it for me. It's not like you could make anything huge, but assembling smaller pieces in to something large is what it's all about anyway. ;) In my...

$5.46 a bottle? That's cheap compared to some CA's. Mercury Adhesives ( the caddy of superglues) runs about double. Heh, well I was going to finish that with "...especially when your wife uses it, not realizing that it gets everywhere , and empties half the bottle down her forearm." But I...

Huh, so I wonder if that's roughly equivalent to Stew-Mac's "thin" superglue... That's my preferred glue for dripping on baking soda to fill gaps, as it soaks all the way into it. But it's expensive as heck.

Generally a breadboard is modular, meaning you can use it for whatever you want and in any configuration. It's a "blank", if you will. A circuit board usually means a board that's already been printed with circuits to fit a specific wiring design, although to be more confusing, a breadboar...

First, it's p i n vice... And Drem e l while we're at it. ;) That will probably help if you want to search around for what others have done. Second, it just depends on what you're comfortable with. A pin vice is very precise and easy to control, but it does take more time. A Dremel is fast, but take...

This is correct. The letter is the magnet type (Neodymium) and the number is the strength grade. I believe they go from 24 to 54. At least that seems to be the most common range.

I'm not quite sure what you're asking, but I'll give you a few pieces of info... At 1:72, one foot in real life equals 4.23mm in scale. That makes a six-foot man almost exactly one inch tall. If you wanted to build something that was 100 feet long in real life, it would be about 16.5 inches long at ...

Probably strength is what most will say. But there are other things, like the fact that you can clamp parts together and then wick the plastic cement into the joint. There are certainly water-thin superglues out there that can do the same, but you have to be REALLY careful because it gets everywhere...

Rustoleum takes days to dry usually. Best bet is to set it somewhere safe and forget about it for a bit. If your ratio was just off, sometimes epoxy will cure eventually if you let it sit. But if you didn't mix it enough so that there are pockets of separate components then it will never harden. Some epoxies are more finicky than others, too. I remember using some that I think was made by Mig and if th...

I'm guessing they're using parchment paper rather than wax paper, but it's hard to tell. It'll be nice to know for sure if you try it.

I put as much baking soda as is needed to fill the seam, and then drip on the thin super glue until it no longer soaks in. I find that with this particular brand of super glue it takes a couple seconds to cure (usually there's a small "puff" as it suddenly hardens). That gives enough time ...

Make a thin ring of plastic on the larger surface of the ring, the part it's resting on in your picture. Then add a wider ring on top of that. You're essentially creating a ring with a T-shaped cross section. How's that for unmolding? I think it would work if the ring was thin enough, because the w...
