I use an automotive primer. It's a scratch filling, sandable primer. It's a little hot, but not too bad. It will melt 0.005" plastic I use from Evergreen, but has been safe on all other plastics. It's only $5.99 for a 284g can. MUCH cheaper than hobby primers. Iy dries fast, goes on smoothly, ...

I haven't used Duplicolor paints on bare plastic, I have used their primers on resin kits and they're my favorite for this application, a couple of coats with some light sanding in between and you'll have a good hard base for further paint coats. Ken I Have used Duplicolor on bare plastic and was o...

I use duplicolor primers and sand them with fine sand paper 320 and 400 when needed . spray the primer on very lighty in 4 or 5 coats, if you put it on thick in one coat it will melt the plastic. You should be abile to spray krylon over the duplicolor primer, try it on scrap first.

Well I can't speak from experience, but one CCFL tube would light the entire saucer section, all you would need to do is fill the windows with a clear resin. They make great windows. Just seems like less of a headache to use one source of light. I would ask around here, because a lot of people have...

use some clear plastic to make a new canopy, you can glue the broke one together to use as a pattern.
