Re: Space: 1999 Eagle 1 Colors

White Did you actually read earlier posts??? TazMan2000 was just about spot on with his description. Just a few bits I can add... A few of the off-white panels were faintly outlined with pencil (using a fine technical pencil). The off-white panels were of a number of shades, light greys, light tan/...

Re: Has Anyone Heard of "Gallery Glass?"

Could you use this to add panes to the open frames Bandai include in their Star Wars kits?

Re: 3D printed models

Well in MY experience, just paint them after super gluing any parts together, they don't use mold release agent, and I've never had any problems with paint adhering to them.

Re: A few questions about lighting a Zvezda Star Destroyer

Thanks, that's good advice. I have drilled a fair few holes already, and noticed that just shining a light behind them looks OK. I may try a led strip behind the holes, using clear glue to fill the holes instead of running fibres. At least in some locations this would work well I believe (Like the m...

A few questions about lighting a Zvezda Star Destroyer

I bought a lighting kit from Russia, consisted of a batery pack, huge (15mm) switch, a series of leds...and a spool of fibre. The instructions were a joke, suggesting I leave off the dome from teh underside to allow access to the battery pack...gee thanks genius...waht holds that in place in the mea...

Help: idea for lens for Zveda star destroyer engines

Decided that the bare light bulbs don't look good, so I want to use 3 small clear lens parts at the base of the engine bell. Any idea what type of kit or spare part I could use for that purpose? They need to be around 10 to 12mm diameter. Any ideas? NOTE: I don't want to spend a lot, some cheap crap...

Best way to make panelling details

Hi guys, I am about to start my Ravenstar SSD, and one thing I really need to know is how to get the slightly differently coloured panelling that you see on all the well painted kits. As this is a very, very large ship, I don't want to do weathering, staining, streaking etc, as even the smallest 5mm...

HOW MUCH?

I asked for advice regarding lighting my Anigrand SD, from someone on therpf, who had built up a beautiful lit Anigrand SD, he suggested I talk to Randy Neubert at www.voodoofx.com. I did so, basically asking for 3 main-engine lights, 4 small engine lights, and maybe a dozen more leds to light the f...

HELP Canopy/body interface problem

OK, here's the deal, Boba Fett's Slave 1, Fine Molds, brilliant kit! Did a pretty good job of the whole paint process for a rank amateur, masking, over-spraying, rubbing off etc, all good. Then I stick the canopy on! Uh-oh Where the canopy and hull join, which is indented UNDER the clear canopy, the...
