Hi, I used a soldering iron for such damages and was very glad with the results. Especially for energyweapon damages as the iron melts and pushes the material aside and you get real molten material. I read in another thread that a blinking LED will have a shorter life than if you use a simple computer to control the flash rate. After cutting the holes, you can of course try EL-Sheets behind them if there is a bit of space. Saves you the time to lay all the fibre-optics.
