Check a architectural supply shop, they sell them "ready to use".

Otherwise - define the size you want (real life object divided by 72), cut some plastic, glue the parts together. No fun in doing that for 1/72.

Try these cheap starter pack from Smooth-On - it will provide you with everything you need for your first steps in the casting work. And .... thanks for the respect. But it´s not needed - all this is just a matter of practice, as with every other technics at modeling, too. Noone is an artist ...

It's the Olfa circle cutter. Just make a few passes backwards such that the blade just scores the surface. Backwards is also the best way to cut, by the way. The difference is you use more passes. I second that. It´s just that i prefer to go first 1-2 light passes with the sharp side - to get a fin...

Usually i use http://www.pattex.de/Pattex-Montage-Kra ... 493.0.html when making my dio-cores out of Styrofoam.

Before that i used Woodglue, but this stuff works much better, a lot faster and noticeable stronger.

No idea if it is available at your place, but if ..... use it.

It depends - if it is something "strange", not liked by the most, but loved by a few - then there wouldn´t been a real reason to keep it secret. On the other hand - if it may be something many would love, the "secret" can be bad. If there is another person working on the same sub...

@Lichtbringer, "Future" can be purchased from the german online shop "Rai-Ro". If they haven`t it listed in their online catalogue send them a mail, usually they have it nevertheless. I purchased a bottle on the "Inspiraton Modellbau" 2007, it was 11,- Euro - expensive...

Lichtbringer - Future is sold in the UK as "Klear" - you won't have the border restrictions from the UK that you might get importing from the US. However, I believe that it is also available in the Netherlands as "Pledge Vloer Plus" but I may be wrong. I don't know for sure, but...

0,3-0,4mm - whatever you have available.

And check the planned glue before you use it on the kit - some/many glues affect the FO. White glue/Elmers is safe for sure.

Architectural models are made out of it also - check where your local buys his stuff, ask him.
Usually their source is much cheaper than the typical hobby-shops.

I order my stuff at www.architekturbedarf.de (here in Germany) - but i´m pretty sure that similar companies exist in UK.

Um, Lichtbringer? Aves isn't just a two part putty, it's the trade name for a specific product made here in the U.S. Right down the road, here in Wisconsin, I believe. (Road Trip! I've tried generic two part epoxy and hate it. Aves, on the other paw, is wonderful. :D just F.Y.I. I know. http...

Really small gaps are often better suited to the Mr. Surfacer treatment. Big gaps, of course, are perfect for epoxy putty. It was my first try, but thats what i was thinking after all. Your Aves brand has a green and a brown component? Or is this a plumber's putty? I always kind of thought of them ...

My first try was to fill the seams on parts of my scratch-freighter. I took some of part A + B - the green part was REALLY sticky, the greybrown not so much - and mixed it properly. Then i waitet 30 minutes. After that i took small amounts of the mixed stuff (it wasn´t really sticky), made small sna...
