bare metal foil?

It was suggested to me from these forms is use bare metal foil for search lights and such. I went to hobby lobby and the work was not sure if they had it. Does any one know roughy what section of the stores the foil would be in?

thanks for the advice. I will run by hobby lobby when I get to that point and pick up some bare metal foil. I will coat the clear part in future and pva glue it down.

I am not sure how to paint head lights/spotlights. preshadeing like you did is what I had in mind. The Basestar maybe a little trouble to do with all the bits and bobs on it. But it should work.

Here is mine. Its extra cheap. about 15 bucks total. It's not pretty and it works like a charm, stores very small. I plan on building a nice one later on but this works great for me.

I use acrylic and I have never had a base coat I have been happy with. But the major bouns to me is speed. I a base coat a model in about 20 mintues but with a brush it will take me serval hours to get the lookI want.
