Re: Greeblie Organization!

Ziplocks - lots and lots of ziplocks. Big, med., small; these are set into cardboard drink-can tray/boxes, which in turn are set into clear storage totes. Not a perfect solution, but it *does* cut down the amount of time spent on the endless parts hunts...

Here's 4 minute YouTube vid that shows the 2014 build that Toni Castroviejo did:

Toni really doesn't provide details; it looks like a 1/144 Falcon to me.

Re: What are your favorite greebles ???

Look up Darice Clear Domes, but, good luck, as their website is a useless swamp. I'm fairly pleased with these: http://www.brightsidecrafts.com/store/moon-drops-bright-fill This is 12oz (340 grams) of 7mm mini-domes or half-spheres, available in assorted colors, I am using the clear. How many is 340...

Re: Faking cloth accessories for small figures?

For my build of the very first Moone flight, I had to dress a WWE fighter in clothes, making him into a Spanish adventurer. I used disposable baby wipes, which I air dried, trimmed to size, and then applied to the figure with CA glue. Gluing fabric: http://www.starshipmodeler.com/contest/contest_18/...

Artic316 nailed it - I called "Dibs!" on the Revlon Ultimate All-in-One™ Mascara that Karen brought home. I'm thinking more along the lines of making an alternative passenger liner (other than the Rising Star) for the Galactica Rag-tag Fleet.

Also when looking for donor parts from other model kits, you can do what folks in the SFX folks have done -- get parts from anywhere -- potentially useful stuff can found in just about any model kit (aeroplanes, cars, trucks, tranks, artillery, ships, etc.) And hairdryer parts, sections of terrariu...

I bumped this one over to Finishing because you are more likely to find a useful response here... If you are bashing an Excelsior kit into this ship variant, finish up the build, and then use pieces of aluminum foil to copy the hull shapes that are non-standard. Then use those as templates for the p...

I don't know of a source for just buying this, but for building your own, here's a build somewhat similar to what you are describing - the method used is *really* labor intensive, but yields good looking results. Go down this page till you get to "hot air intake hose for the carburetor" an...

Re: Source for ribbed tubing?

I'm not talking about just wire wrapped with solder, btw. I'd like to find a source for tubing or rod that has defined ribs on them, sort of like what vacuum cleaner or sump pump hose, with little ribs on them that are separated by a groove. I could use the control cables from Anakin's podracer, bu...

Battle Beyond The Stars St.Exmin Valkyrie build

Battle Beyond The Stars St.Exmin Valkyrie build This is one of those spaceships that I wanted to have my own model of ever since the very first moment that I glimpsed it. Yes, that was in 1980, and, yes, I can be a slow modeler at times. I am normally fairly good at acquiring information on obscure ...
