I got to try out one of their airbrushes at wonderfest. I now want one so bad it hurts. Definitely on the top of my modeling tool upgrade list.

^This. Plus, I usually seal with a thin layer of semi gloss after the initial layer cures before masking & adding another layer.

Thanks for the suggestions guys. I'm stopping by the hobby shop in the morning & seeing if they have a clear resin that will cure bubble-free without needing some type of vacuum chamber. If I can track some down, I think I'll try casting a copy of the canopy.

I've heard that a coat of future floor polish does magic on clear plastic.

Heating styrene with a candle flame sucks. Not only is the heat too intense, you often end up with soot residue on the part.
