What about old printers and computers, etc? There is a world of yummy stuff on the main boards. Printers especially have many types of switches. You could probably get them for free from a Freecycle or Freeshare group in your area.

It work for smooth, regular surfaces with thin decals. Anything convoluted or thick decals and the decal won't conform to the surface. Not correct. That sounds like an excellent source of engine light. Put one of the Sun bright LEDs in your Star Destroyer's engine bells and viola!
