Thanks, Terry!

I won't be getting these. Tried scribing with the back side of a blade and found guiding the tool in a perfect line difficult, it turned out looking a wee bit like a snake line and also had small variations in depth.

Thanks, Kylwell!

Finally understand how the thing works. (Up until now, I thought the other side was an angled blade for cutting and carving.)

Chisel scriber? How does it work?

While surfing for scribing tools to see what was available, come across these at hlj:

How does chiseling a panel line work? :-k I have no idea.

Thanks, Andrew

Mr. Hobby's Mr. Color Thinner #110 is available in several airbrush artists shops here in Germany. Might it also be available to you in an airbrush shop in Ireland?

Greetings,
Andrew

I highly recommend using Mr. Hobby Color Thinner for removing paint from injection plastic. Simply pour a bit on a rag and start wiping back and forth over the area. I have a very old mpc Braniff SST model kit that was half-covered in brushed-on, thick old paint and it came off nicely. (Takes a wee ...

Thanks, guys! Those will be helpful with another project.

Still digging around for the shop that sold those pieces, but no luck yet.

Kylwell, a 1mm cabochon shape would do the trick! Do you have a website that sells them?

Thanks,
Andrew

I appreciate your help, thank you Terry - but a lens shape is not what I'm looking for. Checked a few sites offering MV lenses out but no hemispheres and nothing as small as 1 mm. This was a perfect half of a ball, a hemisphere, made of glass. The back side (the flat part) was painted silver which a...

Help - looking for tiny 1mm glass ball halves (hemispheres)

About a year ago, there was a link posted in the SM forums to a website that sold tiny glass hemispheres about 1mm in diameter. Great for simulating starship running lights without having to light the model. Does anyone know the address to the site? I think it was somewhere in the continental U.S. S...

I can identify with Ter-Or's post! I transported a spaceship model in a small suitcase on a flight some years ago, and three security guys and a security female couldn't figure out what the hell it was. It looked gray and it didn't make any sense to them, so they marched me over to the bomb-sniffing...
