Try striping the wire out of old electrical cable some will be copper some metallic.
You can wrap the wire around something as thin a a needle to produce very thin hollow all be it corrugated hose.

:) Thanks folks, yes steampunk is a style i do like and i thought a tank without massive armour and just outright fire power to survive was a bit off a change. It must be the fact that i compete in battlebot comps here in oz that i decided to go all out on the weapons.

:) Good point but no matter what power source is used it will run out sooner or later, the thought of radioactive materials and other volatile fuel sources on a tank concerns me so i decided having boiling water spray all over the crew would be more exceptible :D

I still haven't decided, but i can't seem to get away from a steampunk design probably steam driven which ultimately drives a power generator to power the electric fans. Iam visualising fans for upward lift that possibly could tilt or 2 separate sets of fans that propel the tank forward and backward...

:) I think the design of a hovertank depends on a heap of things . powerplant is the main issue as i see it. It could have Startrek type hyperdrives, fan driven like a Dune throppter, maybe your own imaginative atom fusion drive system, electric powered, solar powered etc etc. I like the idea of everyon...

Ridiculous as a steam powered hovercraft sounds, there is a gaming miniatures range where the humans have steam tanks and the kits are released in both wheeled or hover versions... I also thought a steampowered hovertank wouldn't really work but when the steam power is generating tubines that produ...

Thanks for the help
I do agree that i should experiment a bit to see how it turns out.
90% of my models are scratch built and i spray them all over with an etch primer once all the greebies are fitted seems to work well with hand painting.
Once again thanks for your help.

Just a quick question ive been meaning to ask. Over here in oz we probably have different names for a lot of things you describe. We do have Windex,so you use that straight from the bottle, soap and all? Im not sure what FUTURE is? Is the alcohol you discibe similar to Mythelated Spirits? I thought i...

I have been scratchbuilding my own designs rather than copy an existing one so it allows me to be totally freestyle with selecting materials.
Is there any topics on the forum dedicated to ones own designs?
