Re: Forum Moderation

I open up the quick link to new posts and then I've clicked on the last posters name link to see if. 1. they have only just signed up 2. have made 5-10 posts as soon as they have signed up. Helps me from the embarrassment of reading a post at work I've been interested in and following only to find s...

Re: Will vinyl and styrene glue together??

Gorilla glue is in Bunnings - red cap - I've bought it from there a while back. Not a bad glue but as noted - expands a little as it sets. Just checked the Bunnings web site - they still have it - bottles changed a bit though - I suppose the contents are the same. $10- for 59 ml - ouch! "Gorill...

I've used them to clean airbrushes and its ok - Not very good if the brushes are really filthy - it won't remove dried paint. They are only designed to move loose dirt - not stuck on dirt (paint) That’s why the work so well for jewellery - and glasses - they do a great job on my glasses.

The main way, just spray it directly into the rattle can lid then tip that into the airbrush cup. I've seen suggestions to use a large straw that you split and place over the spray nozzle and spray. Lots of suggestions out in the WWW http://cs.finescale.com/FSMCS/forums/p/66943/1401145.aspx http://w...

Rattle cans for the majority, BUT... I decant the rattle can paint and air brush it. I buy cheapo rattle can paint $3.50 here and get the equivalent of 10-15 tinlets of paint which cost $3.50 each - huge savings! Decanting the paint and airbrushing - better control of paint flow. Smoother and thinne...

I've suggested this here before - but tin cans - you know the ones your dog and cat food come in? They have corrugated ribbing. Cut them down and you get lengths of tin roofing - not too sure about the scale but it looks ok. Flattening them out and getting them straight is not too easy but it adds t...

I'm currently in the process of knocking up a ship out of bits 'n' peices. Part of an old glitter lamp, nozzle off a honey squeeze bottle, CD case, greeblies from my spares box, a Ferro Rocher chocolate container as well as some interesting items from a laboratory that I manage. The lab always has s...

I've used tin cans that have the corrugated sides. Not sure of the scale but it worked really well straightened out and lumped in a heap on a railway diorama I did for my brother. It rusts real well if you scratch off the layer of tin - no need for any paints, pastels etc.
