Question for you enamel users out there...

I use Testors enamels to paint with...and use oils for washes and weathering.....but that's mainly for SW....Ma.k subjects....etc...(heavier weathering) Looking for something a little less drastic for my big Star Destroyer... What would you guys suggest? .....acrylic wash?...lighter wash with oils? ...

Light defusing?

I'm currently work on a 72 Finemolds Falcon and am going to do some simple lighting for the engines I've got a bank of dome style LESs and am looking to defuse the bright spots I'd like to use the existing engine box provided with the kit if possible So far I've tried rippled acrylic...milky polypro...

Yep Blappy........I'm finding that out.... :( After a couple of days in the Simple Green...I got most of the paint off The warping got even worse...............still not sure where that came from....it wasn't there before.... I tried some heat.....it straightened......then warped again after cooling...

Thanks for the help guys.... Johnny...I'd try the manufacturer....but I bought it a few years back at Wonderfest.....and I can't really remember if I bought it thru the original maker....or second hand... The kit is a conversion for a TIE fighter......the parts are a different style solar panel........

Yep....I've used lacquer thinner in Model Master enamels for years...I like the quicker drying time....and as Mr. Badwrench said...the durability..(I'm rough on a model during the weathering process..)...it has good adhesion...especially on plastic I've never seemed to experience any adverse problem...

I'm working on modifying a resin figure...and I'm using Aves Apoxie Scuplt...

I was wanting to check some areas with a primer coat............If more filling is needed...does the Aves stick well over primer???

I was at my local Hobby Lobby today...and seen some of these for sale.......and was wondering if any of you have used any of these types of paints......

Mainly I was thinking in terms of using them for weathering.....but any exerience with them will be helpful.......

Tamiya's powders...and clear coats

I just bought some of the Tamiya weathering powders at my LHS...tried some on a old model....really like the results!

How to they work with a clear coat...does it change the color any??....or should I even worry about a clear over it?

If you put it on with just water......(when it is ready)...do you just rub it off dry.....or use water

Is there any trouble getting all the salt off??....

Going to give the salt technique a try on some up coming projects.... Any good tips......... Namely......how to stick it........I've heard of water...if so....how long does it need to dry...............also heard of hairspray.....any kind work??.... I use the airbrush alot for weathering....sometimes I feel too much....

While I have tried washes..and pastels here and there.....I haven't used them as much as I feel I should....going to start practicing them more

I've never used it.....but heard alot of stuff about it.....

I need to fill a few light scratches on a model.....is this what I need??....does it need to be sprayed....or brushed.......

I just bought some Floquil for the first time...Reefer white...and Grime (some Star Wars projects ahead) Can I get some tips from those of you who have used it...
