Re: First time attendee suggestions?

Don't be disheartened when you look at the quality of models in the Contest Room. This show is the cream of the crop when it comes to Sci...

We used to bring a portable gas grill but for some reason they didn't like us using it on the concrete patio...

Definitely bring cash even though many, if not all the vendors accept credit cards.

Well, seeing as though there are roughly 6-8 model shows in my area a year, and roughly six to eight total Sci-fi kits on the tables, I am perfectly happy WonderFest is the way it is. Tell your IPMS friends to go, and see how it feels when the shoe is on the other foot. A few years back I...

I can understa...

At least it'll give someone else a chance to win! :D

Yes, they should work just fine since there's only 2 connections (positive and negative).

I've used Paul's LED tape on several of my builds and have had good success running them on 9V.

About 3 hours according to Google maps.

I got to visit the AF Museum when I was at the Columbus IPMS Nats a few years back. Even got to see the Presidential and R&D aircraft on WPAFB. They were crammed in a hangar and we got to walk right up to them!

Are you saying the batteries are physically leaking? Do you mean the ends have white corrosion a.k.a. potassium carbonate (normally on the negative end)? Have you checked the battery box? There may be some corrosion causing the batteries to discharge. You can use vinegar or lemon juice to clean up t...

Friday Class - Something Different

With Wonderfest rapidly approaching, TAG Team and Iwata will again be offering a Friday Paint Class. This year, instead of doing DINO 101, we will be doing something a little different. This year we are focusing on the idea that it's not what you start with, it's what you do with it. We will start w...

I usually check my circuitry before I solder them in for this very reason.

Good thing you caught it before you buttoned it up!

I've ordered a bunch of nano and pico SMDs from Evan Designs (http://www.modeltrainsoftware.com/). Heck of a bargain at $2 a pop considering the fine soldering involved!

BTW - He offers free shipping on orders greater than $40!

Captain, Welcome to the wonderful world of airbrushing. Hate to say, but sooner or later you're going to have to thin your paints for the airbrush. That's probably why you were having problems with MM Acrylics. You can use a generic thinner, but I recommend using whatever brand of paint's thinner. R...
