I moved away from inks because I found I could get a much better range of colours just using regular acrylics, in my case Vallejo Model Color. Diluting it very, very thin and then doing several washes can really make a difference and add very interesting hues to a subject, especially if you're doing...

My suggestion would be to layer the paint. I usually first put down the base color, then using a darkened version of this I put a quite thin wash in the deeper areas. I then use a lightened version to carefully highlight where it's needed. If it gets too noticeable I use a bit of the base color to b...

Just a question on Vallejo Air Color paints. I can get pretty much the whole range of Vallejo Air Color (as well as Game and Model) so I'm just wondering what the pros/cons of it are. I've been using Vallejo Model color for years on tabletop minis so I'm kinda partial to it. The bumpf says Vallejo A...

Looks great. :D During the day I've been sketching on a booth and looked at some fans before. I'll probably try to build something as well. Looked at just regular 150mm household extraction fans, but don't know if I can get a filter in those, or indeed where I can even get a filter to just put over ...

I'm in the process of setting up some sort of airbrushing station and my only location is a small garden shed, shared with some rabbits. I was thinking of getting, apart from obviously a filter mask and goggles, a bathroom extractor fan and try to jury-rig it to an extension lead and put in a window...

I've been looking at getting an airbrush, and having thrown away my old Badger when I moved out from my parents, I was wondering what people recommend as a good beginner's airbrush? I'll probably be doing mostly 1:72 scale models, so don't know if precision is that big an issue. Any tips? I'm lookin...

Thanks for the tips. I'm going to use it to make the body armor for a 12" Jango fett, made from various bits and pieces. The bits I need to make are the chest, shoulders, leg and foot armor plates. I did this figure by cutting out the armor bits from the plastic torso of the Marmit figure, so y...

Just cut it to shape and slightly bend it.

Shaping Plasticard/sheet styrene?

Does anyone know if it's possible to shape Plasticard (sheet styrene), like vinyl? Or is it too rigid?

Thanks,
Nik
