More life. So after a relatively quiet period. How are the projects coming. Mine has stalled but remained in good shape. I entered it in a contest as a stand alone last year and it got a silver in category. I plan on a figure and base for it. Anyone have any updates? I may start another tank as i ha...

Some minor details to sort out and then its on to paint. http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn268/HWRMKII/Cabal%20Hover%20tank/cabalhovertank012.jpg http://i306.photobucket.com/albums/nn268/HWRMKII/Cabal%20Hover%20tank/cabalhovertank011.jpg http://i306.photobuc...

Nicely done. The sleekness of it reminds me of early pictures of IPM1 tanks in germany. This was when they were new before they got covered in stowage baskets, bigger boxes and more little bits and antennas.

Bringing some life back into this one. Mine is still on the bench but in a bit of stasis lock. Cant figure out an interesting spaced armor for the engines. I had contemplated slat armor for a bit but that poses its own problems. I may still go with it though.

Ill link the batts and tape the leads to the batteries near their respective terminals. That way you can see how ...

Thanks guys.

Yes i believe it is a common ground as the only negative lead it for the 24V neg. That is why i question hooking the 12V pos to the same terminal as the 24V Pos. I have tried to use a meter on it and dont get any real reading off it on any setting. I know the unit isnt faulty. Its new.

Thanks for the response Umi. Im hesitant to hook this thing back up as it is a very expensive system. Its for a 1/6 scale RC tank, i know you are knowledgeable of RC equipment as well. If you would like to better help me understand i can take pictures of the components. I just want to be sure that i...

24 volt system

Ok i have a 24 volt electric system with a 12 volt stem on it. the 24V system is 2 bridged 12 volt batteries. The unit has a 24V pos and neg leads and another 12 volt secondary lead for powering the basics of the system. Im assuming that the 24v neg lead is also the neg lead for the 12 volt. My big ...

You gotta find an old 1/35 chieftain stowage bin and throw it on there. No UK or commonwealth vehicle is complete without one.

Very cool. i wouldnt mind seeing it in primer at least to get a better idea of the lines. Thing about scratch bashes is that you dont get a feel for the next stage until theres at least one coat of primer.

I've noticed that most of the designs, started and discussed, are using future tech/SF-ish technologies. If a 'hovertank' uses other technologies, such as ducted fans, air cushions, direct fan lift or rocket power, does it still qualify as a hovertank? If no part of the vehicle touches the ground w...

Oh what do you guys think of the main gun. Stole ot off some leftovers from an armored core kit. Was killing myself trying to think of an unrecognizable mantlet for it. Then it hit me. T-55! Just a canvas cover over the hole. Some out came the foil from a Dove chocolate easter rabbit and BANG canvas...

With a 1 person crew there wont be much crap all over it. Thats what the stowage bin on the rear of the turret is for. I will be adding more handles once the spaced armor is on. Guys gotta have a way of getting on and off the thing. The final paint scheme is still up i n the air. I want to see how i...

DISQUALIFIED! :P Just givin ya some stuff. I know you didnt build it for the challenge. Ill let it pass for inspiration to others and actually a good example of what not to do for this challenge. The Trumpeter S tank is quite recognizeable. Other than that though it looks cool and is well done.

Make it a manageable size. At about 1/72 scale that model would not be much larger than your average 1/35 AFV model. Definitely no bigger than the bandai Type 61.

Oh and in case you guys didnt notice. The model is balanced. Its setting on the cap of that tamiya extra thin bottle on a very small point and hardly teeters. It falls to the rear a bit when the turret is put on but it should balance back out when the spaced armor and slat armor is put over the engi...

Thanks guys. Alot more work to go on the turret. The main hull is almost there though. I may break up some of the empty spaces with more panels. Still undecided on the paint scheme. The game has a nice green and sand one with a big german flag across the nose.
