Another vote for acetone here and lighter fluid. To clean files of resin or metal i use a small brass suede brush and when they're clean some pool cue chalk rubbed onto the file will help prevent re clogging.

I've used Micro Sol and Set for years now without any problems (apart from ones I created ) They are great for hard to decal surfaces.
