Thanks for the tips guys, I'm rather looking forward to making my own decals.

I'm wondering if anyone can recommend some decal paper to use with my HP inkjet printer?

I was hoping I could design some images with GIMP and print them out easily. Just wondering if you need any special hardware or ink or anything.

I bought a RAH-66 Comanche model which I'm looking forward to building but I'm wondering what the best way to paint the canopy is? I don't have an airbrush so it will be by hand, I guess just mask it up? How do you mask a canopy presicely?

I've always just used black poly s with water as a wash. Works great for the most part but if applied too heavily it pools and doesn't look right once dried. Then I touch up the panel lines with citadel black ink.

I think I'll try the pastels and watercolor - I have both just sitting around.

Well I tried the baking soda and that produces a nice thick mud but I found that simply drybrushing with Tamiya paints produces a clumpy look that I think is more suitable for this model.

I normally drybrush with poly s paints, but in this case tamiya worked out better.

I'm building a votoms mecha and I was wondering what would be a method of creating mud, like it had been splashed on as it was using it's wheeled ground effect system. I was thinking that mixing some brown paint with real dirt might be the way to go. Any other suggestions on making realistic looking...

Thanks, tried this and it worked. Only broke a few pegs off, but now I can redo that botched gundam and patlabor model.

Will freezing work for cyanoacrylates?
