Aaahh! Okay, worth a shot! Yes, sweet words that turn to bitter orange wax in my ears! I'll give the wet sanding thing a shot, why didn't I think of that?! There are somedays I am too much like Fry, God help me! With most projects ya just gotta KISS it. Keep It Simple Stupid! Oh, speaking of Fry, he...

I used rattle cans (Testor paint bombs!) a plenty on the Clone Trooper figure. I tried everything to matt down the ultra high gloss finish and tackiness. Yeah, didn't pay too much attention to what type of paints I was using and on what kind of substance the figure is made from....stupid me! #-o I t...

My gloss is gettin' glossier!

I have recently run into a very annoying problem on a figure model I was enjoying up until now. It seems that no matter how many coats of dull coat (yes, the Testors stuff) I sprayed on this Clone Trooper figure I am currently finishing up, the glossy finish is NOT going away and it seems the finish...

Yes, thanks for that tip about the wrinkle effect Krylon sprays have on decals and the yellowing. Placing the yellowed model in direct sunlight for a short while may help get rid of the yellowing, it's a trick I read somewhere.

Dull coats

I find that Testors (Model Master) stuff to be crap and it yellows. A good source of dull coat sprays is Krylon. They make some nice stuff and you get plenty of it too! They have glossy, satin, and dull coat spray finishes that dry in minutes and never yellows or clogs up at the tip! I haven't had a...

Hey, thanks guys! These are some great tips on finding some good replacment parts for my speeder bike underside. I can only imagine how interesting and expensive the Imperial Speeder bike and for that matter all SW vehicles had Nitto Ltd. been tapped to do the SW kits. One thing is for sure, they'd ...

Yes, thats the ticket! Those would work very nicely for replacing the power hoses in my Imp. Speeder biker! It seems on my copy of the Speeder bike model a lot of the little detail parts suffer from some bad castings and heavey flash, its Ertl so I guess it is to be expected I mean how old is that k...

NEEDED: little springs and things

I was wondering if anybody out there that has built an SF3D (now known as Ma.K. 3000) model kit and has used the kit supplied coiled springs for the power hoses knows where I can find more of these great little coiled springs. I plan on building the AMT/Ertl Imperial Speeder bike kit and the segment...

Future for all!

Hey kids, don't forget that Future can be used for just about everthing. It works wonders for making clear parts like canopies and view ports look prefect after dipping them. You have to sand them with progressivly finer and finer grades of sanding paper but thats how it goes. If you need any more h...
