Does anyone have any experince with that? mainly looking for what would be the best sandable primer out there. i usually start with 450 grit and move up to 1000 grit for a smooth finish. then poli...

I soak my iwata eclipse (nozzle up to the cup) in super clean degreaser every few uses, keeps it nice shiny and clean. That helps keep any thing from clumping or residue build up. I run some thru also and that helps

re-finishing/decaling a kit

Ok, heres the set up. I have a Starcrafts Akira that was gloss coated over 3 years ago, and decals were applied. After the decals were on, it was found out that the maker had used a thicker paper, and it didn't react well with my setting solution(micro sol/set) i then removed the decals. I have new ...

Gaps between clear parts and opaque parts

Clear parts have always been a bane of mine since day one. Learning the 'bathing in Future' has helped with some issues, but my main issue i continue to have deals with gappage. what is a good process for dealing with the gappage between clear parts and opaque? ie the warp grills on any of the ST ki...

I like this a little better than regular "Elmers White Glue". It dries to more of a "clear" than white glue which can have a milky tint to it. http://www.microscale.com/Merchant2/merchant.mvc?Screen=PROD&Product_Code=MI-9&Category_Code=FINPROD&Product_Count=3 but doe...

Couple questions on Clear canopies

Ok, after the debacle of my Tempest bomber and the attempt at doing the canopie there, i need to ask some questions. 1) What can be used to attach clear parts without fogging them? Preferably something that dries matte incase some leaks into the cockpit. 2) Is there a good way to fill any gaps that ...

Been using Gunze Thinned Putty lately and just love the stuff. :) i found somthing similer to this i think. it was Mr Disolved Putty, a little jar of stuff. From the makers of Mr Surfacer. gonna take some playing time to figure how to apply it best, but i think it will work. that and the primer.

ertl xwing kit. the lines are not massive, but they are there. considering the ammount of gap work i will have to do, i might try a combination of some putty and primer. gonna have to see if the HLS has any of the Mr Surfacer 500.

when using one of these in combination to LEDS, would you have to have a seperate board/power supply for the sheet and LEDs?
Ive never done lighting, and have the idea to use a sheet about about 5-6 LEDs on a kit, but dont know a thing about either.

is there a way to make Future useable as a dullcoat? I am hesitant to use the Model Master Acryl dullcoat again since they changed the formula.
Or does anyone know a good substitute to the MM dull? preferably somthing easy to airbrush or use from a can?

Another great seam filler is Liquitex modeling paste. It's relatively thin out of the jar, which makes it great for filling finer seams without getting it everywhere except where you want it. ( a good example is a fine seam on the refit E between the base of the neck and the secondary hull) You sim...

Ok, really crazy question. My dad used a eurithane based paint(jet glow) to paint a ferarri years ago. Now, hes toying with the idea of getting back to work on it. Heres the thing. Some of the paint stuck, but some also just kinda fell off. He works on airplanes for a living, so he knows how to prep...
