speaking of future, Does an almost full bottle of future lose its effectivness at all ? my bottle is 5 years old and has stayed in my cabinet in the house and it still looks good, so i thought i would ask about the age of a bottle of future.

Great tips. Rogviler, when you use the thin stuff, how much baking soda do you put in the seam & how much super glue thin ? I have 2 seams on the new dragon saturn V that dragon left on all of the saturns second stage. the seams are thin and long say 12 inches long. the rocket is white. I also h...

Yes, i did scan them just in case and someone resized them for me as well after the scan. The model is the revelle "history makers 1/48 Apollo spacecraft and the decals for that are not offered anywhere for aftermarket. That kit is being re released and hopefully the decals may become fresh aga...

White glue to water mix ratio to save old decals info needed

I have some older decals for my 1/48 Apollo spacecraft that is from 1983. I don't know how the decals adhesive will hold up so I need to know what the mixing ratio is for white glue & water that some of you use to insure the decal will stick to the models surface & dry clear. I have never ha...

How much white glue is just right ? a drop or 2 ? I have some old decals that look ok but since they are from 1983 you never know and there are NO replacements. I used 2 light coats of liquid decal film over them on the decal sheet and keep them in a dry dark drawer until i get ready to use them. Th...

How about putting future in a plastic bottle that has a pump spray ? such as an old & cleaned out windex bottle, can future be misted on a model without looking splattered or uneven ? I would like to protect my model finishes with future but do not own an airbrush, any suggestions ?

I don't know how big or small your model is or what the windows look like if you want lit windows how about buying relfective tape used for vehicles ? It comes in white, red, yellow and silver. you could cut out the small shapes you need to fit what you want to do and as soon as a light source hits ...

That has got to be frustrating having all your hard work ruined when lifting up the tape  If you do not have an airbrush, can future be applied to a model by misting it on with a pump spray bottle ? Will it give a smooth finish without spotting & will the future level itself out for a smo...

Thanks everyone, i was thinking of the small spray bottle also and wasn't sure if it would be pebblely with the sparay bottle. I know future self levels but with a spray bottle i just wasn't sure. For decals i like to use a small clean paintbrush along the decal and off the sides a little.

It is the big 39 inch long moebius seaview kit with the front & rear sections being cemented together with a cylindrical male/female kind of set up. one tube slides onto a smaller tube section. I have seen some people screw them together. maybe testors liquid cement might be a better choice beca...

Thanks ! so capillary action is the best then ? For large parts such as the BIG seaview that has the front and rear halves to be joined and there are large flat surfaces that need cementing, i guess the brush that comes with it would work here. how long do i have to join the 2 parts , what I mean is...

can i put future in a spray bottle and use it for models ?

I have a bottle of future and would like to be able to mist it on but don't know how well it will work. If i put straight future in a clean spray bottle how well will it mist on to a model ? do i need to thin it or can I use it full strength ? what kind of results can be expected with this method ?

I also use the blue painters tape and really "burnish" ( rub down with a pencil eraser or other like object) down the edges. I find big rolls of it at my dollar store. :)

The tamiya pure white left a nice finish but it looks like a semi-gloss white in most of the areas. It looks shiney in light with some areas glossier than others, maybe more paint got onto the glossier parts. I think the decal will be ok on there however, adding a clear coat of some kind brushed on ...
