Need a dirty black/grey

So, Im finishing up my new 1/72 FM X-wing and I'm ready to put the blast marks on the thing. What I need is a good sooty grimy dark grey or black. I was considering ero1 grey with some silver or steel mixed in.

What would you guys recommend?

Wow! It's 1:34 and I spent the last 3+ hours working on models!! The most I've done it quite some time. Anyway, I soldered all my red LED's and trimed down the circuitboard to fit underneath the wings. I realized the best place for the Batteries is the front landing gear bay!! It should hold 3 small...

I've got one of those lightsheet experiment kits I had hoped to light the cockpit of my Finemolds falcon with.

Hmmm, I wonder if they would make a cockpit set for the Falcon? They have some real nice railrod kits on their site.

Need a SMALL 9 volt power source

So, I've got another one of the Voodoo FX x-wing light kits. I put one in my SMT Y-wing(and hasn't gone any farther) so I'm cool with soldering it together. Now, I want to put it in the new Finemolds X-wing BUT I want to make it self contained, I don't want to have to drill a mounting hole. The ligh...

Fibre optics and super glue

So, last summer, I ran almost all the FO's I wanted into my CCX cockpit. (for pix, go here:http://paulsplasticpalace.spaces.live.com/) So, after oogling the thing sitting in the fuselage, I decided to finish it up. I pulled it out of the fuselage, and unbundled 2 of the 3 FO bundles!  :!...

Liquid masks

What do you all use for liquid masks? Years ago I used micromask(the brown stuff) and had lousy results. I then used Bob Dively's liquid mask, and have loved it, but I'm out. I bought some Mr hobby liquid mask neo, but have had problems getting it off the model. I bought some of the Hasagawa liquid ...

Masking Boba's slave 1

Ok, soon Im going to have to mask off my slave 1. It apears that I really need to BE PATIENT and use a toothpick. Now, what's the best mask? I've used the Bob dively stuff and recently used the Mr Hobby mask(but had the WORST time getting it removed). Someone used some purple stuff a while back-who'...

wiring plug/Jack

Ok, Im using the voodoo Fx x-wing lighting kit to light my SMT Y-wing. I was going to run the wires to the base so the ship could not be removed, however, I was thinking, would it be possible to mount a plug in the bottom of the model that all the wires attached to and then an opposite plug/jack in ...
