Also, anything new from Moebius this year??
Moebius wasn't at the show but we had a few display items on the CTVM table namely the Batwing from "Batman v. Superman" and a sample of the seamless glass dome for the LIS Robot. We also had the new Moebius Death Dealer kits (that flew off the shelf).

Anyone know if there's a map of the rooms that things are happening in? Or the Dealers rooms of who's where?

Re: First time attendee suggestions?

Flyers with maps are available where you get your ticket. The Crowne Plaza is not a huge hotel and all the rooms (model contest, dealers, make'n'take, etc.) are along the only same (and only) passage with presentation rooms upstairs. Easy to get around. Check the WF website. They usually post the fl...

Re: Contest Challenge

Ah, that makes sense. Unfortunately, I'm driving into Louisville Saturday morning. Maybe I can bring address/contact info labels to stick to the forms, to avoid writing that info on every form? Would that mess up the filing/judging system? They're carbonless forms so writing is mandatory unless you...

Re: First time attendee suggestions?

When you get there, grab a program and decide which events/demos you plan to attend. Leave time for the dealers room but don't spend all day there. Bring money. Something will grab your attention and whisper "buy me." Stay or return in the evenings. There are many gatherings after hours. Inquire as ...

A few slightly odd things to consider: A monopod for your camera. Less intrusive than a tripod and allows for taking photos without flash. Might not be needed for fancy cameras but useful for point-and-shoots. A lanyard to hold your WF ticket/badge. Less likely to get lost that a badge pinned to you...

If images in signatures are going to be allowed, I think we all need to limit ourselves on that. I've been on model forums (I think FineScale does it), where some sigs are compilations of logos for all their favorite organizations, pictures of their favorite models, their wives and dogs, plus five ...

Yes, I like surprises but I also like to have a kit I'm really looking forward to getting.

There's nothing worse than finding out that a dealer had 10 kits of something you really wanted but sold out because you didn't go to that dealer's table first.

Since the contest team was asking for more models this year, I was sorta hoping the fee would be $9 for the first two and then unlimited other models.

Neb,

I notice that it's $9 for the first two models and the next eight are free - that's $9 for ten models.

How much for the 11th model? The 12th? The web site doesn't say.

Since you're asking us to bring more models, I need to know how much cash I'll need to bring.

In the past, I've brought between 4 and 6 models. I went through the collection and looked at older models that were contest worthy. Found 4 that I'm not ashamed of. They won't win anything but will fill up the tables! Combined with the 6 I'm building/have built that makes a total of 10 . Hey, I'm d...

I think we've all had Dave Hodge screw up a model or builder's name. I've taken to pre-printing 3 copies of labels for each model that includes the model's name and description. It makes it easier for the judges (I think). Note to the WF team: It would be really nice to be able to pre-print entry fo...

Remote control for model lighting

I have several models displayed in my office/man cave that have built-in, battery power LED lighting. All have some form of on/off switch. When I have visitors, I like to have the models with lighting, lit up. This involves turning each one on independently. Is there such a thing as inexpensive remo...

My wife's Dremel Stylus 1100 packed up (bad battery that can't be replaced). Isn't that why we have credit cards? Or don't some of the vendors take those? (honest question, only purchases I've made have been with cash). Not all vendors take credit cards.
