Yes, yes it has been. I did more harm than good so the kit goes to the spares bin.

I'm looking to remove cured Aves putty from a model. Any tips or tricks? I tried just picking at it with an x-axcto but it seems like a pretty good bond.

Pop it in the freezer? Hit it with the hair drier? Trash it and start over?

I squirt in a little thinner first, mix with a brush, then spray on a test area until the thinner in the tip sprays through and I'm getting consistent results.

Acetone is used to clean up and remove epoxy paints, glues, so soaking resin parts in acetone would have detrimental results. Because acetone evaporates so fast, just a wipe down should have little affect.

It sounds like the putty had not fully cured when you started to sand the first time. What are you sanding that requires 800 and 1200 sandpaper on Bondo? As interesting as it sounds, what what I understand from our GE rep. it's not really there yet. You want a cool finish. take a look at a PVD nickle finish with hand brushing. All of the brushed metal faucets you see now have this technique. On Plastic!

I always mix the Bondo hot. I put more hardener than I should. YOu can alwyas buy another tube pf hardener. Be sure to clean the surface good, I've had Mr Resin Surfacer flake off styrene and resin. Once as a thick application for texture on the edge of a model and once Scoth Blue Masking tape tore the primer right off.

switch to Vallejo paints, they have the businees end of an eye dropper top and you squeeze out what you want. Or if you are stuck on MM paints, try and find eyedropper bottle like that and transfer your paints.
