They don't insulate in California? Not in Southern California and at least not with blue/pink foam, or anything similar. The blue and pink foam that I have I got from a friend back in Astronomy; they bought several sheets to insulate some electronics, and they were "imported" from out of ...

cool. Luckily, this will be painted over, but Ive had some thin pieces break off, and need something that will bond but not severly melt (like when you put waaayyyy too much testors glue on a model peice and the plastic starts to melt.) Sounds like it will do what I need, about how long to do you to...

Weld on #3 question

Hey,
I just ordered some weld one #3 to make some repairs to some clear acrylic plexiglass. I was wondering how visible, and how much acrylic weld on melts, and if it will distort thin acrylic pieces?
thanks,
Josh

I second the badger 155. I own one and I love it, it has to be one of the best airbrushes on the market. The fact that you can change spray patterns without having to change the tip/needle is brilliant, and its easy to take apart and clean.

What kind of paint is it - specifically? Krylon permenate clear coat I'm afraid. I broke down and bought a replacement part already, but as a warning to all... don't use Krylon clear coat on clear peices!!!! Thanks for everyones ideas though, I did try soaking it, but I think its chemically bonded ...

I own both a Badger Crescendo and a Iwata HB-BCS. Both are excellent brushes. I find I get a finer line with the Iwata but I can't rave enough about Badger's customer service. I mailed my busted Badger (my fault) off and and a couple of weeks later received an almost completely rebuilt brush! Very ...

Did you take a Q tip and dip it in rubbing alchohol then rub the Q tip over the plastic? Or you could just soak the parts in rubbing alchol for a few hours then wipe the clear coat off. I actually used an old sock, with a good coating of rubbing alcohol. Im leary to soak it as I don't want to damag...

removing acrylic clear coat

I've tried rubbing alcohol and brake fluid, with no avial, so how can I removed the clear coat without damaging the plastic? I've tested laquer thinner on the plastic, and it eats it, so thats out too. And no, th...

I have a badger 150 anthem, and its an excellent airbrush for just about anything you throw at it. Its a good airbrush for a beginner, its easy to clean, and the 150 has an adjustable spray nozzel, which has handled ever situation I've given it.

Clear coating tacky enamal

Hey all,

I have a model and a few areas are still a little tacky. I was wondering if I gave it a coat of dull clear coat, if that would seal it up or not?

thanks,
Josh

Wiring cold cathodes

Hey,

So say I had 2 liquid cold cathode light tubes, and I wanted to wire them together so they could both run off one DC 12v? I'd like to get some simulated warp drive action going on with them.

if it in the end produces a nice looking model, theres nothing wrong with it. Its that dedication that in turn produces something beautiful. Good luck with all that :-D

How about spraying lacquer over an enamel basecoat (that has had several days to set up?)

yup, usually run it between 20-40 psi.

when I run straight paint thinner through it it sprays fine, but add any amount of paint and its no good.

Hey, I have a badger 155 with a 4 gallon compressor, and recently no matter what I do when Im shooting paint it sputters (pulsates). I dont have a moister trap, but i have drained my compressor and pumped air through the hose to clean it out, along with completely cleaning the brush... but it still ...
