The USS Wolf was built by Starfleet in secret to counter the Borg threat. One thousand meters long and nearly one hundred meters wide, it's the longest/largest mobile construct in Starfleet history. It is a warp-capable anti-matter space cannon built using the latest technology, based on a device encountered by NCC-1701 on Stardate 4202 in System L-374. Being a classified project, it will probably never be publicly acknowledged.

The ship is accompanied by four smaller, un-named and un-numbered versions of itself known simply as "Cubs". Each cub is capable of four shots (the Wolf can fire up to ten). All the ships are equipped with a fusion reactor that allows them to "reload", given enough time. Any ship can self detonate as a last resort.

Because of internal space limitations, none of the cubs are equipped with warp drive. Their mission is to remain in geo-stationary orbit around Earth, acting as a safety net, while the Wolf hunts down approaching Borg vessels.
