Lensman Indetectable Speedster |
|
|
Scale: Not stated The indetectable speedster was an example of the earliest known stealth vehicles. Constructed from non-ferrous alloys to elude radar and magnetic detection, mounting thought screens, and painted flat space black, these ships were virtually impossible to locate (or destroy) during the long war with Boskone. The objective was to build a interstellar vessel capable of carrying a small crew, but often used for solo missions by the elite Gray Lensman of the Galactic Patrol. The Boskonians learned from their bitter enemy, and derived their own version of this ship. My example here is an attempt to use the ‘retro’ look of the 1940’s and 50’s - the glory days of pulp sci-fi. The upper stage of a Nike interceptor missile kit certainly had the rivets and bolts look I had in mind, and I merely deleted the fourth fin to create a bottom to the ship, and a window decal did the rest. |
